Terms of Booking & Booking Deposit

By placing a booking with us (the property owner/ his/her/their representative) you (the lead guest) and your booking party (guests) agree to the following terms and conditions as set-out. During your stay you agree to abide by the subsequent conditions as set-out. If you have any questions about booking with us, please contact us before making a booking.

To place a booking with us the lead guest must be at least 16 years of age. The maximum number of staying guests per room is illustrated in the room occupancy details on the website. Where the person making the booking is different to the lead guest taking up the occupation, the person making the booking may be held responsible for cancellation, non-arrival and damages as set-out within. Only the lead guest and the named booking party are allowed to use the property and its facilities, any third party visitors are only allowed access at our express permission.

To secure bookings made directly with The Hope & Anchor, we require validated payment details in the form of a credit or debit card.

‘Bed & Breakfast’ Booking Terms – You can cancel or amend your booking up to 14 days in advance of the date of arrival without penalty. After this time, the full amount will be charged to the credit or debit card provided at the point of booking and the amount charged becomes non-refundable and non-transferable. If you would like to pay with an alternative method other than the card details provided, please contact us prior to 14 days before your arrival date, to make payment. Payments can be made online / over the phone using debit/credit card or BACS. We do not take cash deposits.

‘Private Hire Rate’ Booking Terms – A non-refundable non-transferable booking deposit of £200 is required to secure your booking. The remainder will be due for payment 30 days prior to your arrival date.

If you have booked with a third party such as booking.com, you may be liable to different payment terms and cancellation policy, which will be outlined by that third party at the point of booking.

All guests agree to respect the privacy and peace of all other staying guests, neighbours and the owners at all times. We reserve the right to cancel a booking with immediate effect if guests are not honouring this agreement or causing a disturbance / nuisance to other guests, neighbours or the owners.

Cancellation

Standard ‘Bed & Breakfast’ Rate – You can cancel or amend your booking up to 14 days in advance of the date of arrival without penalty. After this time, the full amount will be charged to the card details provided and will become non-refundable and non-transferable.

Private Hire Rate – A booking deposit of £200 is payable to secure the booking and is non-refundable & non-transferable. Should you cancel or want to amend your booking up to 30 days in advance of the date of arrival, you can do so without further penalty. After this time, the remainder will be payable, and become non-refundable and non-transferable.

Check-in & Check-out

Guests must check-in and check-out by the times stated below;

  • Check-in from: 12:00pm and before 11pm on day of arrival
  • Check-out by: 10:00am on day of departure

Hot Drink – Loyalty Cards

Applies to purchases of hot drinks only – coffees, teas and hot chocolates. Stamps can be collected for all hot drinks purchased within The Pub, Pavillion or Hut locations at the Hope & Anchor.

Stamps cannot be obtained when hot drinks are purchased as part of another promotion. Stamps are only valid for 12 months.  A completed loyalty card must be presented at the point of redemption.

If there is any suspicion of foul play, we withhold the right to refuse redemption.

WiFi Fair & Appropriate Usage Policy

Where WiFi Internet access is provided, guests accept to use this access to the Internet fairly and appropriately. We may monitor network performance and user usage in order to maintain a fair and high level of service to all our guests.

The Internet access provided is intended for general use such as access to the world wide web, email, messaging, social media, light video / music / media streaming. It is not intended or ideally suited for heavy media streaming, online gaming, extensive downloads / uploads. Access to illegal activity or use of our network for illegal activity is not prohibited and will be reported to local authorities.

Damages & Lost Property

We reserve the right to charge the lead guest for any damages caused through the course of a booking by any member of the booking party. This includes breakages, spillages, stains, damage to furniture or fixtures and fittings. Any accidental damages should be reported as soon as possible in order to minimise damage and associated costs. Lost keys / fobs / access cards will incur a replacement charge per key / fob / card lost.

Any lost property, if discovered and found, left behind by guests during a stay will be held for a period of 1 month. While we will make our best efforts to reunite lost property with their owners we accept no responsibility in replacing lost items and encourage guests to ensure they have all their belonging before checking-out. We may offer to post lost items via recorded delivery at the cost of the property owner, otherwise collection can be arranged.

Smoking

Smoking of any tobacco products or e-cigarettes including, but not limited to cigarettes, pipes, cigars, snuff or chewing tobacco, is not allowed in any internal areas of the hotel in accordance with the Health Act 2006.

Pets & Service Dogs

Dogs are allowed in the lower bar area of the pub, and we have 3 pet-friendly rooms available. However, there is a cleaning surcharge that must be paid at £15 per animal per night. We withhold the right to charge a further additional amount depending the condition of the room following check-out.

If you wish to bring any other types of pet to the Hope & Anchor, please speak to a member of staff in advance of travel or before making a booking.

Parking

Where on-site parking is provided guests accept that they park their vehicles at their own risk, and are subject to any fees & fines applicable.

Your Personal Details & Privacy

We are required to keep a register of guests over the age of 16 who stay with us, this includes full names and nationality, and/or passport numbers, place of issue, details of next destination if they are non-British, Irish or Commonwealth guests. This is in accordance with the (Immigration (Hotel records) Order 1972). These records are kept for a minimum of 12 months and in accordance with the DPA (Data Protection Act 1998) and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

Our policy surrounding the personal details you provide as part of any booking or enquiry through this website / or third party website, including the privacy of those details are explained and set out in our Privacy Policy which you can read here.

You accept that any entries you make to an on-site guest book, if available, will not contain personal information or details you would not want disclosed. Any entries containing personal details that may fall into the DPA and GDPR may be removed and destroyed.

Our Right To Cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel any booking without compensation, refund or reimbursement if the terms of these conditions are breached.

Gift Cards & Experiences

Credit on most gift cards are redeemable straight away, no further action is required. The Hope & Anchor gift cards can only be redeemed in The Hope & Anchor and its subsidiary offerings (Pub, Pavilion, Rooms, Hut).

We recommend you register gift cards online with your details. In doing so, if lost, stolen, or damaged we may be able to find it on our system and send a replacement e-gift card.

Please protect this card and treat it as cash, The Hope & Anchor cannot take responsibility for losses, damages or stolen gift cards.

Gift cards can be redeemed in full or used as part payment at The Hope & Anchor on drinks, food or packages/experiences available. Please speak with our team for full details on what packages/experiences are on offer, unfortunately, all experiences & events are subject to availability. Please check in advance of booking. If you are using a gift card to pay for a masterclass/package/experience/food/drinks etc. you will need to pay the difference if the bill isn’t fully covered by the already pre-loaded amount.

Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash. No change or refund will be given but the remaining balances will stay on the card for future redemption. Gift cards, experience & event ticket purchases will expire 12 months from the date of purchase, please see gift card carrier for expiry date. Any remaining balance will be deducted on expiry. Gift card balances can be checked at The Hope & Anchor or online at: gifts.thehopeandanchor.co.uk/balance

If we believe a gift card is fraudulent, we reserve the right to cancel the purchase and remove credit.

We reserve the right to amend gift card terms and conditions from time to time when considered necessary.

Please note we do not accept overseas card payments for gift cards or payments via an American Express credit card.
