As a proud dog-friendly pub, we love welcoming your four-legged friends just as much as their humans!

Whether your pup’s here for cuddles, a bowl of water, a quick break after a long walk along the river, or just to say hello to the staff, we’re always thrilled to have them join us.

To show our huge appreciation for our amazing furry guests (and their equally wonderful owners!), we’re running a special competition over on Facebook and Instagram throughout November 2025.

How to Enter

All you have to do is post a photo of your precious pooch enjoying their time at our pub, under our competition post on either social media & like the post, for your chance to win.  You can enter as many times as you like!

Please note, that the prize must be redeemed within three months of being notified as the winner. The prize can be used for lunch or dinner, including Sundays. T&C’s apply.

Terms and conditions

Entries must be received by 11.59pm on 30th November 2025 to be counted.
Entries only accepted via The Hope & Anchor Facebook or Instagram.
Multiple entries permitted providing the photos are different.
Entrants must include one photo of their dog at The Hope & Anchor, Ross-On-Wye, either taken in advance of the competition or in the month of November 2025 to qualify. No purchase necessary.
Entrants must be 18 or over.
The prize is 2x adult main courses from our Lunch or Dinner menu to the value of £25 per person and 1x dog bowl from our Sir Woofchester range (either Roast Dinner or Fish & Chips). No cash alternative and the prize cannot be exchanged.
The winner has three months to redeem their prize after confirmation of their win. Should the winner try to redeem after this time, the prize will be forfeited.
The winner can redeem the prize by booking directly with the pub via info@thehopeandanchor.co.uk, and the dog food bowl will be available at the same time as their booking.
Prize can be redeemed Monday to Sunday, excluding Tuesday as the pub is closed.
The winner will be chosen at random from valid entries after the competition closes. The winner will be announced on our socials using the photo of their dog they submitted. Efforts will be made to contact the winner directly. Should the winner not acknowledge the win within seven days, we reserve the right to repick the winner.
Winners may be required to participate in publicity, which could include their name and/or image being shared upon claiming of the prize.
Staff from The Hope & Anchor, The Pavilion, The Hut, and all Country House Weddings Ltd venues are not permitted to enter, nor are their immediate family or partners. Any such entries will be void.
The Hope & Anchor or its parent company Country House Weddings Ltd is not liable for lost or delayed entries, or for any damage or injury resulting from participation in the competition or the prize.
The Hope & Anchor reserves the right to cancel, amend, or terminate the competition.
